The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
L. Frank Baum
Biblio Chroma is a project developed to investigate connections between literature and color. Can we get a feel for the tone of a book by the colors it uses? How important is color to the overall tone of a book? Does the darkness of a post apocalyptic novel come threw in it's pallet? Biblio Chroma attempts to answer some of these questions using computational analyses and artistic expression.
The following are images generated by finding all instances of color words in the work and placing color proportionally according to where the color word appears in the original text within Jan Tschichold's ideal page layout for books.
This work is still in progress and will continue to evolve as time progresses.
A print series is planned. Follow @BiblioChroma for updates.
